Data publication

Datasets uploaded by local authorities and national parks are processed by the Spatial Hub and merged into the national datasets in one of our quarterly publication months (January, April, July or October). Some datasets are easier and quicker to process, and require more frequent publication than others (see Get Data pages for more details).

Metadata records for each dataset are published on the Scottish Spatial Data Infrastructure, which meets the 'Discovery service' element of the EU INSPIRE Directive.

These national datasets are made available to registered users as web services, via the Get Data pages. These web services meet the 'View service' and 'Download service' elements of INSPIRE.

The preview map below allows you to access the latest published INSPIRE 'view service' for each of our national datasets. Select which dataset you want to preview using the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the map. Then zoom and pan around the map to investigate the dataset.
